MEDITERRANEAN BLEND

I have always loved the stories of the Sybils, especially the Sybil of Cumae whose ancient cave is not very far from my Southern Italian village. The Sybils foretold the future in rhyming verse...the old stories say the Sybil's divination was enhanced by breathing fumes from burning herbs...the bay tree was especially revered by them. The herbs in this blend were gathered in Italy last winter - bay, olive, sage, rose and rosemary - with the intention of creating this Mediterranean incense blend, imspired by and in honor of the Sybils. I've finished them off by pressing each stick through a bed of fresh flowers from my Maine gardens, herbs that I consider sacred - St. John's wort, hyssop and of course, rose.

Burn these as you would any incense stick. Each of these exquisitely aromatic incense sticks will last through many burnings.
